Lady in Red strikes again!

We are so pleased to see Kate getting out and about again and what better reason than to support this year’s Poppy appeal?  Kate turned heads with a surprise visit to the Underground station at High Street Kensington yesterday and spoke to volunteers selling poppies (click here to see Kate).  In keeping with the colour scheme of the day, Kate chose a coat we have seen before so it is clearly a favourite and would also be a valuable addition to your festive winter wardrobe.  Kate’s coat is from one of her favourite stores LK Bennett from their 2011 collection and similar styles (as well as some great sale items) can be purchased here.  We have sourced our favourites from the high street and also suggest a Kate style twist to update the look by adding one of these fabulous waist-cinching belts.

Shine like the star that you are!

We were all so excited for Kate’s first evening out with William since the birth of Prince George.  Would she wear a new dress?  A new designer?  Were we all going to be green with envy at how her figure has snapped back to its former glory?  We certainly weren’t disappointed (click here to see Kate’s look).  Kate attended the Tusk Trust awards on 12th September wearing her most glittering ensemble yet.  The Duchess was in a floor length gown of head to toe silver sequins by one of her favourite designers, Jenny Packham.  A very similar dress was available from Packham’s line for high street department store Debenhams but had sadly sold out by the time Kate hit the red carpet.  Instead, we have found these fabulous replikates to help you shimmer during the forthcoming festive season!  Definitely time to pull out these sparkly shoes previously featured on Replikate Me which are a dead ringer for Kate’s Jimmy Choo’s and (thank heaven!) are still available from New Look online for just £30!

The first official photographs of The Duke and Duchess with Prince George are finally here!  As anticipated, they are not taken by a celebrity photographer and were instead taken by a member of the Middleton family in their back garden, who it turns out was Kate’s father Michael.  The experts are divided over the technical aspects of the shots but no one could argue that the couple look happy and relaxed, joined by not only their new son and heir but also their dog, Lupo.  Click here to see the photographs.

It is believed that Kate is wearing a maternity knot dress (£46) from maternity brand Seraphine (above centre) although the colour is slightly different in the photographs due to the lighting.  The dress is still available here, although delivery is likely to be delayed due to high demand.  It is a shade we have rarely seen the Duchess wear but beautifully compliments her dark hair and we have collected our favourite similar (non-maternity) looks from the high street for replikating the look.  The sales are still on so plenty of bargains to be found and none better than this pink Jersey dress from Jaeger (one of Kate’s favoured brands) reduced from £150 to just £35!  What a steal!

Kate to attend awards ceremony!

Well I don’t know about you but WE MISS KATE!  Yes, yes, yes, we know she has a newborn to look after and it is only fair that she have a little time for her and her gorgeous little bundle to get to know each other but there is definitely a bit of glamour missing from our lives while she is gone.  Never fear, it has been confirmed that the Duchess will be attending an awards ceremony for the conservation charity Tusk Trust (of which William is a patron) on September 12th and as any new Mummy will know, one’s first night out on the town feels such a treat!  We hope she enjoys indulging herself in a bit of glitz for the event.  In the meantime, the shops are teaming with Kate inspired pieces and there are some simply amazing bargains to be found.  Here are some of our favourites…

Above from left

Autograph Broken Floral Dress, Marks and Spencer £55 ( a dead ringer for Kate’s Cezanne dress but adding some oh-so-flattering vertical lines!)

Cobalt Drape Dress, £18/US$28 Dorothy Perkins (a similar shade to the Stella McCartney worn by Kate last year combined with Roksanda Ilincic style draping)

Jersey Maxi Dress, £99/US$155 Alexon (so close to Kate’s vibrant Beulah dress it is hard to resist!)

Peter Pan Ponte Dress, £39.50/US$62 Marks and Spencer (just love these contrast collar dresses like Kate’s and always draw compliments, this one has a beautiful shape)

Fever Fish Military dress, £28/US$44 Dorothy Perkins (so evocative of Kate’s military McQueen coat and skirt with a body con edginess)

Gold Foil Wrap Dress, £18/US$28 Dorothy Perkins ( a personal favourite, flattering draping and a shimmer that just makes you gleam)

Ivory and Black Spot Dress, £25.20/US$40 Dorothy Perkins (a longer version of Kate’s spotty maternity dress but just as fun!)

Finally for those sleepless nights, who would be without these LA Aviator sunglasses from Kate’s favourite LK Bennett reduced to just £45/US$70 in their sale?!

Going dotty over Prince George!

Well what an amazing few weeks it has been!  On 22nd July 2013 the world welcomed Prince George of Cambridge (George Alexander Louis) and Kate and William proudly stood on the steps of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington shortly afterwards to greet the press (click here to see photos).  The reception was unanimous that both looked incredibly happy and Kate looked radiant, especially given that she had only very recently given birth, wearing a bespoke cornflower blue polka dot dress by Jenny Packham.  We are sure there is probably a pink one too!  Prince George was wrapped in a muslin swaddle by Aden and Anais (£44.95 for pack of four).  As any new mother will know, you can never have enough muslins and these ones are so large that they do the job marvellously as well as combining pretty designs and being light as a feather.  The ‘jungle jam” design has sold out online since the Duchess’ appearance, however our Replikate Me spies managed to track some down in the children’s department at Fenwicks of London so grab yours quickly!  On top of the swaddle was a beautiful Christening Shawl from G.H.Hurt and Son – prefect as a gift and surprisingly affordable at £45.

But back to Kate and her incredible post baby look, the globe has gone polkadot crazy!  The choice was a subtle nod toward the green polkadot dress worn by Princess Diana in 1982 when she appeared on the same steps carrying a baby Prince William and the style was a pretty empire line.  We have tracked down these pretty blue replikates online if you want to capture the look yourselves (above centre Closet Shift Dress £42 available here and right, Asos  Smock Dress).  However above all our favourite is this nursing dress from Peachy Mama that is so close to the blue of Kate’s dress we just had to tell you about it – I’m not even breastfeeding and I’m pretty tempted!

We have lots of posts to bring you over the coming weeks – Kate style florals, peplums, getting your man to “RepliWilliam” and much more so watch this space…

Tickled pink?

The bookies are clear that the odds are on Kate and William’s firstborn being a girl, with popular names being Alexandra, Charlotte, Victoria, Elizabeth and Diana.  Only time will tell so while we await news of the royal birth, let’s indulge in some pretty little dress shopping!  We are sure that Kate and William will dress their baby in lots of white clothes for the first couple of weeks as no doubt Kate has enjoyed buying a few pieces in preparation for their new addition.  This would also follow in the footsteps of other young European royals such as Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden who has chosen quite traditional dresses for her daughter, Estelle.

We have collected some of our favourites that we think might well form part of Baby Girl Cambridge’s wardrobe…just too cute!

Clockwise from left, Pink Double Breasted Coat Emile et Rose £38.99, Cashmere Sunshine Christening Dress by Sue Hill £169, Liberty Art Print Romper Trotters, Pink Check Dress Mayoral, Bespoke Baby Girl Royal Gift Selection by Chateau de Sable £250, Personalised Sailor Dress by Lola Smith£35, Bow Detail Dress by The Traditional Children’s Company £39.95.

Baby blue?

Well rumour has it that Kate’s due date may well be a few weeks earlier than the July 14th date the media had believed.  Perhaps it was a clever ruse to to trick the paparazzi and avoid poor Kate being hounded in her last few days of pregnancy, but either way the birth is clearly imminent!  Here at Replikate Me we are so excited to welcome the royal prince or princess that we have selected a few items we think Kate and William may well consider when dressing their bonny offspring.  Today, we are looking at adorable boy’s clothes (believe me the girls’ dresses we have found are well worth the wait!) and above are some pieces that would not look out of place in the wardrobe of a little prince.

Given the relatively conservative way that Kate and William dress themselves, we expect that when Baby Cambridge is very young, they are likely to choose quite traditional clothes including soft knitwear, peter pan collars and some nautical breton stripes.  Kate has already been seen in Trotters Childrenswear buying clothes as gifts for friends and we love this pale blue boat shortie (centre right) and cricket jumper (centre left) from their boy’s range.  Keeping with the soft baby blue theme (to match the Cambridge Bugaboo pram no less!) are these gorgeous collared all in ones by Ralph Lauren.  Both William and Kate have been seen in the designer’s clothes in the past so we see no reason why  the little Prince wouldn’t enjoy some too!  Kate is a regular visitor to the Sloane Square Peter Jones store which also sells some beautifully classic pieces by Emile et Rose that are truly timeless.

As the baby gets older we envisage he might well start to dress more like his father in chinos, cable knit jumpers and shirts but until then we expect Kate may well enjoy dressing him in clothes that are practical for splashing about in the puddles of Balmoral like these dungarees from JoJo Maman Bebe and some breton stripes (T shirt from H&M and romper from JoJo Maman Bebe).  Kate is also a huge fan of Zara when dressing herself from the high street and their childrenswear range does not disappoint.  We can see Baby Boy Cambridge toddling about in these sweet little deck shoes and sandals with long shorts.  Simply adorable.

Watch this space for some dresses fit for a little princess!

Kate has also been seen out and about in the last few days antique shopping and sporting a gorgeous trenchcoat with skinny black jeans and ballet pumps.  Land’s End at Debenhams have this great replikate included in their sale so pick it up quickly!

Beaming in sunshine yellow!

Kate was radiant at this year’s Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace wearing this season’s hottest colour: yellow.  Like a beaming ray of sunshine, she combined a canary yellow tweed coat from Emilia Wickstead with nude pumps and pearl earrings.  It is a colour to which the Duchess is clearly drawn as she has worn the colour on a number of occasions in the past.  We have found these replikates that are a great way to add some zing to your summer wardrobe.

From left,

Zara Short Checkered Coat, £52/US$80.  See Kate at the Royal Garden Party here.

French Connection Floral Flirtation Short Sleeve Dress £91/US$140 (reduced from £130).  See Kate’s similar dress at Honiara Airport here.

Kate also wore a bright yellow Jaeger shirt dress whilst visiting the Solomon Islands.  The dress has been re-released and is currently reduced from £180 to just £60/US$92!  Click here to get yours!

A little “off-piste” but we just had to let you know about this gorgeous Chanel style cardigan (above right) currently available at LK Bennett and currently reduced to £85/US$131.  Although there were very few photographs of the royal couple on their honeymoon, there was one of Kate wearing a similar jacket by Milly NY with black trousers and wedges (see it here).  It is such a versatile piece that is stylish but looks so effortless, this is definitely a wardrobe essential that we are likely to see Kate wear again and again.

Later this week….ROYAL BABY CLOTHES!

Blushing Beauty

During the last few weeks of Kate’s pregnancy, we have seen her wear some beautiful shades of blush pink, peach, nude and cream that have given her complexion an extra radiance we could all do with!  Click here to see Kate’s latest looks.  There are some fantastic maternity replikates for the lace Jenny Packham Kate wore to the Coronation service.  We love this pink lace dress (above right) from New Look’s maternity range for just £39.99/US$61 or this one in dark cream lace for £24.99/US$38.  Combine with this wool and cashmere luxe coat from Seraphine and a nude heel to really complete the Kate look.

For a non-maternity outfit in these pretty hues, the high street is bursting with options.  The Duchess is a regular shopper at Ted Baker and many of their current collections show a definite nod towards her look.  Our favourites are shown above and include some elegant occasion coats to truly emulate royal style.  Our favourite is the pale pink peplum jacket (bottom left) – a beautiful replikate of the Alexander McQueen peplum coat we have seen Kate wear on numerous occasions but in a length that makes it infinitely more wearable.

From left,

Kinaa Full Skirt Coat, Ted Baker £279/US$429

Lesha Belted Coat, Coast £99/US$152 (reduced from £160)

Side Seam Dress, Ted Baker £80/US$123 (reduced from £159)

Bridie Sculpted Pleated dress, Ted Baker £65/US$100 (reduced from £129)

Wren Wool Peplum Jacket, Ted Baker £209/US$321

To accessorize Duchess style, go glitzy! This exquisite platinum plated bracelet from Marks and Spencer (£45/US$69) is very similar to Kate’s (believed to be a wedding present) and could easily be confused for real diamonds, especially when teamed with a understated pastel outfit.  For a special occasion, why not invest in a neutral-coloured saucer fascinator like this one from Untold at House of Fraser (£45/US$69)?  As well as adding a chic twist to neutral tones, it can be combined with a nude heel to complement any dress and see you through the wedding season!
